Limited opportunities may signal it's time to quit

If there are no opportunities for advancement at your current company, or you dread going in each morning, it may be time to find another job. Spending only two or three years in a position is normal as fewer employees spend decades in the same job. "One piece of advice I got a long time ago, 'Do you have your resume ready at all times? No?
