Mich. physician says ER is great place for palliative care

Emergency physician Fitz Blake sought a palliative medicine fellowship at the University of Michigan because he believes in patient-centered care that educates patients and helps them make informed decisions. When he returns to the emergency department full time, he hopes to show how care providers can begin the palliative care process there. "I try to educate my peers that our days are certainly busy and hectic but if we take that time, I believe outcomes will be better for our patients," he said.
