Taiwan opens drug regulation and training center

Taiwan's Department of Health, in cooperation with National Cheng Kung University, has opened a Center for Pharmaceutical Regulatory Science designed to encourage cooperation among industry, government and academia. The new center will serve as the location for conducting interdisciplinary studies, formulating regulations and training personnel, according to the health department's Food and Drug Administration. A study of the quality and safety of cosmetics, drugs and medical equipment is already under way.
