VA will meet 2015 goal on claims backlog with EHRs, Shinseki says

Even though the number of disability claims keeps growing as a result of more service members returning from combat tours, Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki says a shift away from paper to electronic records will be key to helping eliminate the backlog by 2015. The Department of Veterans Affairs has already deployed a new computer system in 20 regional offices and plans to have it operational in all regional offices by year's end.
