EU officials reportedly might scrap rating-rotation plan

Denmark, which is holding the EU presidency, will call for an agreement from finance ministers on whether to eliminate a proposal to force companies to rotate their use of credit rating agencies, sources said. Michel Barnier, the EU's internal-market commissioner, proposed rotation last year amid concerns that the existing system exacerbated the sovereign-debt crisis.
