Android devices begin to find footing in factories

Factory floors are no longer the exclusive province of Apple's iPad tablets, according to GE Intelligent Platforms, which provides companies with industrial solutions. GE says that Android-based devices began making inroads in late 2012 and now account for about 20% of the factory tablet market. "When you're talking deploying hundreds of these things, the iPad gets expensive," said Kyle Wiens, whose iFixit website offers repair manuals.
