Co-op challenges contractor over when financial problems began

A contractor that recently abandoned several jobs in New England has alleged that its financial problems began after a food co-op failed to pay on time for renovation work. The co-op manager disputed the accusation and said that payments for the $9 million project were made on schedule. "The final resolution of the project is now in the hands of the bond company," according to the co-op's community relations manager.
