First responders ready to help pets weather emergencies

Although more work is needed, the lessons of Hurricane Katrina and Superstorm Sandy left emergency responders more prepared to address the needs of pets and livestock during natural disasters. Last week, Utah's emergency managers gathered to share knowledge and develop plans for assisting people with their animals in the event of a natural disaster.
