Global education leaders consider teacher evaluations

Countries worldwide should take a systemic approach to evaluating teachers, considering factors such as the learning environment and policies and practices, suggests Andreas Schleicher, special adviser on education policy to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. He makes the assessment following a recent meeting in Amsterdam in which ministers of education and union leaders worldwide discussed how best to evaluate teachers.
