Propane fracking is gaining in Texas

The use of propane in fracturing is gaining traction in Texas as more companies try out the innovation. "We've looked at [propane fracking], and I would say that absolutely our industry is open to all possibilities," said Michael Dunkel, Pioneer Natural Resources' director of sustainable development. Gasfrac, the Canadian company that developed the technology, says the process is better than hydraulic fracturing because it does not use water.
