Using a "one-day diet" plan that calls for a specific action can help people get back on track after a weekend or holiday splurge, and is a sensible alternative to off-and-on weight-loss efforts, registered dietitian Elisa Zied writes. Dietitians say that strategies include keeping a food diary, making sure to eat breakfast, including a "rainbow" of colorful foods on the menu, keeping healthy snacks available, reducing portion sizes and eating full-fat foods in moderation.
