Report: High-school seniors increasingly opt for STEM majors

High-school seniors are showing a marked increase in preference for science, technology, engineering and math majors and careers, with the national total up more than 20% since 2004, according to a recent report. However, data also reveal a gender gap -- 40% of boys showed interested in STEM, compared with 15% of girls.
