Tighten labels on opioid painkillers, DEA urges FDA

The Drug Enforcement Administration wrote a letter advising the FDA to increase restrictions on the opioid painkillers hydrocodone and oxycodone to help stop the abuse of the treatments. "The proposed label changes would have serious implications for drugmakers because federal law prohibits off-label advertising," Public Citizen wrote in a statement.
