Wendy's lowers forecast for Affordable Care Act costs

New requirements set to take effect next year under the Affordable Care Act will cost about $5,000 per restaurant for Wendy's, about one-fifth of the chain's original estimate, CFO Stephen Hare said. Some workers will find options that are more cost-effective than the company plan, he said, and others will likely opt not to get insurance and opt instead to pay the less-expensive personal penalty.
