Witness: Halliburton warned BP about blowout risk before spill

Halliburton warned BP against not running 15 of 21 recommended stabilizers in its Macondo well in the Gulf of Mexico, according to testimony Wednesday during a civil trial over the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill. "They simply informed me that that decision has been made not to run the 15 additional centralizers," Nathaniel Chaisson, Halliburton's cementing services coordinator, said. "I informed them that without the additional 15 centralizers the job would result in channeling," he added.
