Large, successful video game publishers such as Electronic Arts and Activision Blizzard increasingly are paring back the number of new games they release and are concentrating more resources around the few titles with the most breakout potential, according to this report. The trend comes as developers of casual, social games on Facebook and the iPhone are enjoying a steep increase in popularity.
