Canadian regulators reportedly sidestep question about CCP location

Canada, like its counterparts in the Group of 20 nations, pledged to centrally clear all standardized derivatives by the end of 2012. However, Canadian regulators have not decided whether to require a portion of the over-the-counter derivatives market to be cleared locally. Regulators are expected to release a report on OTC clearing, but a decision about central counterparty location is not included in the document, according to an official.
