Dean Foods plans to close La. plant

Dean Foods will close its Oak Farms processing plant in Shreveport, La., by mid-May, the company said in a statement. The closure is part of a cost reduction push by the company and will eliminate some 170 jobs. Production from the plant, which processed primarily liquid milk, will be moved mostly to plants in Houston and Dallas.
