Innovation spurs supercomputing capabilities, adoption

New advancements in supercomputing technology are spurring demand for high-performance computers, specifically in the research and government sectors, and providing greater abilities in examining and solving scientific challenges from health care to climate change. Users say the bigger, faster HPC developments are providing for greater computing system diversity. In 2012, sales of supercomputers worth at least half a million dollars rose 29%, IDC reported.
