The Nuclear Regulatory Commission said it was pleased with progress on aspects of the Omaha Public Power District's plans to restart the Fort Calhoun nuclear plant in Nebraska. The agency said it liked changes in security plans, upgraded components and worker attitudes, but several issues remain unresolved. "I'll be frank. Some of the work was good. And some of the work did not pass our inspections," said Tony Vegel, the agency's regional director of nuclear-materials safety.
