Study: More investors skip advisers in investment management

Consumers who want more control over what is done with their money are increasingly self-handling investments, rather than seeking help from financial advisers, according to a report from Celent. The self-directed investment market, which comprises mostly online brokerages, expanded by 5% in 2012, the report says.
