Playtex wins false ad suit against P&G

Playtex Products has prevailed over Procter & Gamble Co. in federal appeals court, concluding a false advertising case filed by Playtex in 2003 in which it challenged competitive claims P&G made in marketing its Pearl brand tampons as an alternative to Gentle Glide tampons manufactured by Playtex. The judgment upheld the jury verdict, which awarded $3 million in damages to Playtex.
