Carnival says its profits will take a hit as a result of a fire last week on its Star Princess, but the effects of that and other recent incidents may ripple throughout the industry, The Miami Herald reports. Cruise lines are already under heavy scrutiny over their handling of passenger disappearances and shipboard crimes, but agents say they haven't seen a slowdown in bookings since the recent events and criticism of safety procedures.
