Study sees overeating as a form of addiction

A study of rats that were given high-calorie foods indicates that obesity may be caused by an addiction to those foods that is as potent as addictions to nicotine and other drugs. Researchers found chemical changes in the brains of rats who overindulged, and they said the findings may be useful in treating obesity.
