European banks rethink corporate lending as Basel III looms

A Greenwich Associates survey found that European banks are reconsidering their approach to corporate lending as they prepare to meet Basel III rules. Lenders have started segmenting clients based on their profitability. Basel III's capital-reserve requirements are expected to affect midtier banks harder than others, Greenwich said.
