San Diego Unified named finalist for the 2013 Broad Prize for Urban Education

03/29/2013

I am very proud to announce that our district has been selected as one of four districts in the country to be recognized for student achievement gains by the Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation. The Broad Prize honors urban school districts that demonstrate the greatest overall performance and improvement in student achievement while reducing achievement gaps among poor and minority students. This prestigious nomination reflects the unwavering dedication and commitment of our staff, students, parents, board members and the community to the district's mission and vision. It is a true tribute to the entire San Diego Unified team, which has maintained a laser-like focus on students in the midst of unprecedented budget cuts. Please accept my heartfelt thanks and congratulations for a job WELL DONE! Read more.
