Hasbro revives the empty "Star Wars" box

Hasbro hopes to generate "Star Wars" toy buzz with its limited-edition empty box gimmick at Wal-Mart stores as well as exclusive toys at Target and Toys "R" Us. The technique dates back to 1977, when empty "Star Wars" toy boxes redeemable for action figures were placed in stores when demand for movie tie-in products far outstripped the supply.
