Pittsburgh undergoes green building Renaissance

Pittsburgh's population has dwindled since the steel industry collapsed in the 1950s, but the city is seeing a green Renaissance. Pittsburgh has not built much new construction in recent years, but it has preserved and retrofitted existing structures. "Pittsburgh's doing green in a weak market city with existing building stock, and it's done it without government programs," said Rebecca Flora of the Green Building Council.
