Baidu will shut down e-commerce platform and migrate merchants

China's largest search engine, Baidu, plans to shut e-commerce website Youa after it failed to gain traction with consumers, who prefer shop on rival Alibaba's Taobao online marketplace. Baidu will migrate merchants to Rakuten China and Yaodian100 in May but said it plans to develop another e-commerce platform that better suits users.
