ExxonMobil shuts down Ark. pipeline after oil spill

A leak discovered on March 29 in ExxonMobil's Pegasus pipeline in Arkansas prompted the company to shut down the line. Spill cleanup operations are ongoing, Exxon said, although it offered no specific estimate of the quantity of spilled oil. "Excavation is necessary as part of an investigation to determine the cause of the incident," said Alan Jeffers, a spokesman for the company.
