HHS issues final regulations on Medicaid funding, expansion

HHS issued the final rule for Medicaid expansion on Friday, under which new Medicaid beneficiaries will be guaranteed 100% funding beginning next year. The federal government will be covering all the costs of certain new Medicaid beneficiaries until 2016 before gradually going down to a permanent 90% rate by 2020. The rule will be open for comments from the public for the next 60 days.
