N.H. elementary school's reading program serves as model

Epping Elementary School in New Hampshire seven years ago partnered with nonprofit Teaching and Learning Alliance to teach reading by having students select their own books and read more independently. The school's program is now using the school as a model for other New England educators who want to learn the process. "It's very powerful for teachers to see it done by masterful people," TLA Executive Director Lynn Schade said.
