Obama is urged to increase LNG exports

The Obama administration is being urged to facilitate the exporting of liquefied natural gas to help U.S. producers hurt by low domestic prices. "The president is in a position where he should sign off because it supports thousands and thousands of jobs. To me, it's just using our own assets in a wise manner," said Dewey Bartlett, the mayor of Tulsa, Okla. Bartlett was one of 17 mayors who led a letter-writing campaign earlier this year urging President Barack Obama and Energy Secretary Steven Chu to speed up the permitting of LNG exports.
