Victims of cyberattacks turn to law firms for help

Some companies hit by cyberattacks are seeking help from law firms for aid in complying with disclosure requirements and fending off lawsuits. Another advantage of working with law firms, as opposed to forensic firms, is attorney-client privilege. "Every network we have seen has substantial room for improvement," said Mike Dubose, head of the cyberinvestigations practice at Kroll Advisory Solutions. "What a company does not want is its investigation or due diligence, undertaken with the best of intentions, to be used against it in litigation."
