NMB takes over negotiations between US Airways, flight attendants

For the first time since the US Airways-America West merger in 2005, the National Mediation Board has stepped in to mediate flight attendant negotiations. Though workers from both airlines are represented by the Association of Flight Attendants, their separate master executive councils have been unable to agree on a joint contract. Late last year, flight attendants rejected a joint contract proposed by management, and in February they broke off negotiations.
