Some biofuel developers turn attention to bio-derivatives market

Concerns surrounding climate change and energy independence are prompting several companies with biofuel initiatives, such as DuPont, BP and Archer Daniels Midland, to increasingly look at developing biobased chemicals using glycerine or corn as feedstock. Although the market for bio-derivatives is still small, production could rise as efforts to reduce demand for petrochemicals gain traction, analysts said.
