Chamber, AFL-CIO reach compromise on guest-worker immigration

Richard Trumka, president of the AFL-CIO, and Thomas Donohue, president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, said they are in agreement on the broad outline of a program to allow low-skilled foreign workers to accept year-round, temporary employment in the U.S. Their support removes a major obstacle for Congress, which plans to take action on immigration legislation when it returns after the April recess.
