Clot-busting tPA safe for aspirin users after stroke, study finds

Stroke patients taking aspirin can safely receive tissue plasminogen activator, according to a study in the journal Academic Emergency Medicine. Some doctors hesitate to give tPA to aspirin users over concerns about the risk of bleeding in the brain. The study did not include patients on stronger anticoagulants, such as warfarin or heparin.
