Electron beam key to new counterfeit-thwarting technology

The iridescence of a butterfly's wings is the inspiration behind a new anti-counterfeiting technology. Nanotech Security uses an electron beam to carve structures in material that are tinier than the wavelength of light, mimicking the wing of the Blue Morpho butterfly. "There’s no way to duplicate it, other than the real thing," says Doug Blakeway, Nanotech CEO.
