HHS issues final decision on enhanced Medicaid funding

HHS released a 104-page final rule Friday on the methods states can use to determine whether beneficiaries are eligible for the 100% matching rate under Medicaid, although the agency is still accepting comments on the rule. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act mandates that the federal government will pick up the cost of new Medicaid beneficiaries from 2014 through 2016 if their annual income is up to 133% of the federal poverty level.
