Inspired Light in Oregon is at work fine tuning a rooftop solar-power system that uses three-junction concentrated solar photovoltaic cells. The company says it delivers up to 30% efficiency, far better than the 15% to 18% efficiency of standard photovoltaic panels. The company is working to make the system even more efficient, hoping it can become an alternative fossil-fuel energy. It received a $150,000 grant from the Oregon Built Environmental & Sustainable Technologies Center.
