Refineries being built in N.D. to keep up with oil output

Construction began last week on a 20,000-barrel-per-day refinery in North Dakota as oil production there outpaces the capacity to ship it to faraway refineries. "The demand for these middle distillates rose 80% in North Dakota from 2009 to 2012, providing the incentive to invest in local refineries," the federal Energy Information Agency recently said.
