Shift to conceptual math is taking place in some Ill. districts

Two Illinois school districts are working to align math education with the Common Core State Standards. "As educators, we learned math procedurally. We memorized a formula, put it out, and we got our 'A's,'" District 58 teacher Ginny Lauterbach said. "Procedure is not what the new Common Core is all about. It's conceptual."
