Social media helps to preserve unwritten Mexican languages

Mexico has about 360 language variants, many of which do not have formal written systems. Young people and others eager to communicate in these languages on Twitter and Facebook have begun creating alphabets to represent them so they can chat with friends and families in their native tongues.
