Texas city workers launch cleanup initiative

Dozens of Odessa, Texas, city employees joined the Keep Odessa Beautiful Community Pride Campaign and picked up trash in a vacant lot Monday. The effort is not only for aesthetics but also aims to reduce trash flowing into the drainage system, thus decreasing repair costs, officials say. Mayor David Turner attended the campaign launch. "If people don't see me or the City Council picking up trash, they're going to think it's not an issue," Turner said.
