UK educators have a different take on classroom behaviour

While the issue of bad behaviour among students has been in the spotlight recently, several educators in the United Kingdom say that the traditional definition of "good behaviour" may not suit student learning. Instead, they say that behavior such as questioning the teacher and asking for more information should be viewed favorably. Tim Taylor, a primary-school teacher in the east of England, found that students were being given so much direction at his school that they could not act without direction from adults.
