Vt. releases proposed health insurance rates

Vermont became the first state to post proposed health insurance rates, giving consumers without insurance an idea of policy costs next year. Two health insurers planning to participate in the state exchange have proposed keeping rates the same as those paid by small businesses and self-insured individuals this year. Proposed rates for a single consumer earning $40,000 reaches $317 per month, while a family of four with an annual income of $32,000 will pay about $45 a month.
