Expert: Health CIOs must become more strategic planners, managers

CIOs at health care organizations need to be involved in determining strategy and prioritize programs that will yield the most value in order to turn "information efforts into the clinical enterprise," said Donald Wegmiller, chairman of C-Suite Resources. In an interview with Healthcare Informatics, Wegmiller details findings from a report published by the Minneapolis-based consultancy that focuses on senior leaders' plans for growth and sustainability amid the economic recession.
