Emergency medical workers in St. Louis use Wi-Fi networks to save the lives of heart attack victims with the help of defibrillator units that transmit vital electrocardiogram data back to doctors. Receiving the data ahead of time enables emergency room physicians to make critical decisions before ambulances reach the hospitals, doctors say.
