Bank attacks are result of "funded hacktivism," expert says

The denial-of-service attacks against U.S. banks are coming from an increasingly adept and well-funded Izz ad-Din al-Qassam hacker group, says Dan Holden, director of Arbor Networks' Security Engineering & Response Team. The hackers have added new techniques and are focusing on specific applications of the banks they target, he said. "Regardless of who's behind this," he said, "it has to be funded at some level. Even if it's hacktivists, it's got to be funded hacktivism."
